Adam from GAMA helped us secure an apartment in Jamaica, but unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory. Despite “no smoking” signs posted throughout the building, multiple tenants frequently smoked in the hallways, and the smoke made its way into our top-floor apartment. In addition, there were persistent and unbearable odors, including urine and feces smells, which made the living conditions intolerable.
These issues were not apparent during the brief viewing but became constant during the two weeks we stayed there. While the owner failed to address the situation, which is outside of GAMA’s direct responsibility, GAMA also refused to refund any part of our payment, including the security deposit. Their reasoning was that we had agreed to move in 15 days earlier than the lease date, but this was never clearly communicated to us and felt misleading.
This experience has left us feeling that GAMA does not prioritize its customers or the quality of the apartments it manages. The lack of accountability and miscommunication has been deeply disappointing.
